The institute was virtually inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister, Sj. Naveen Pattnaik, on October 12, 2017. It is the second-largest government technical institute at the ITI level in Sundargarh District. Constructed under the Multi-sectoral Development Programme (MsDP) scheme, the institution boasts a well-furnished library, an IT lab, trade workshops, classrooms, hostels for both boys and girls, a playground, and residential quarters for the principal and staff, making it a comprehensive campus.

The institute officially began its first academic batches on August 1, 2022, within its well-furnished premises, offering specialized technical courses. These include a two-year Fitter course (1+1), a two-year Electrician course (1+1), a two-year R&ACT course (1+1), and a one-year Sewing Technology course (1+1).

Admissions: For the two-year courses, students must have passed the 10th grade. The one-year course is available for students who have not passed the 10th grade.

• Fitter: 20 seats
• Electrician: 20 seats
• R&ACT: 24 seats
• Sewing Technology: 40 seats

Beyond Academics: The institute actively promotes extracurricular engagement through sports activities and cultural programs such as ITI Fest.
